This work is part of a series exploring ancestral energy through movement. The artist attempts to channel her ancestors through echoing dance moves, first adorning her body in paint, each line an intuitive cosmic symbol. Experimenting with found objects as an extension of the body (which is an extension of the artist’s mixed media practice), movement dances with time to question the pulse of the here and now. Who were the ones who passed on their genes to us? How does this genetic memory shape our perspective? What is the line between the bloodline’s creativity and our own? And what will happen to our own creative actions when we too become echoes of the past?

These A3 (29.7 x 42 cm / 11.7 16.5 in) prints are produced on 300g Setinet paper, a heavyweight stock that provides a sturdy, professional feel.
